PUBLIC SECTOR INNOVATION LAB

The Public Sector Innovation Lab (PSI-Lab), a unique, homegrown initiative, was established in June 2025 as Ethiopia's pioneering hub for public sector innovation. Its core aim is to transform public service delivery at the Ministry of Labor and Skills with an eye toward impacting the public sector nationwide.

Our approach

About our Lab

By applying custom design processes and adaptive methodologies, we drive systematic change to address existing and emerging public sector challenges.

Applying custom design processes and adapting methods to develop evidence-led solutions for the public sector.

Structured innovation environments where we prototype, test, and refine solutions to complex government challenges.

Creating a thriving environment for uninterrupted human prosperity through radical, cross-institutional cooperation.

About our Lab

At the PSI-Lab, our vision transforms challenges into opportunities. We combine expert knowledge with creative problem-solving to steer our systems in a bold new direction.

Our mission is to act as a catalyst for change within the Ministry and beyond. By building a bridge for new partnerships and high-impact initiatives, we design novel, practical solutions that meet the evolving demands of the public sector.

Our expertise spans the innovation spectrum — moving from human-centred design to citizen-driven data storytelling.

"While competition leads to steady growth, true breakthroughs happen through cooperation. At the PSI Lab, we reframe problems as strategic opportunities. We believe the most effective agents for lasting, sustainable development are empowered individuals and the communities they belong to."
